Escorts Exploit Clients in Dangerous Pay-to-Play Scheme

The concept of pay to play websites is often discussed among colleagues at work or during casual conversations in Barber shops. A place where men can pick and choose the type of woman they want to meet for intimate activities at an agreed upon price. While some may see this as simply paying for something that is typically free in traditional dating scenarios, others become addicted to the thrill and convenience of this transactional process. But with temporary pleasure comes significant dangers, police stings, unexpected violence, and even death. In this episode of No Tears for Black Girls, we will explore a case from Georgia where two female escorts plotted against their clients, leaving a trail of victims in their wake. Ashanti Dorsey, 21, and Keira Williams, 18, were trying to survive on the streets of Atlanta through one of the oldest professions in the book, escorting. Instead of pursuing higher education or traditional jobs, these young women use their looks to make money. Ashanti took on the role of mentor Takira, teaching her how to advertise their services, set prices, and choose safe locations for meetings with clients. At first, both women played the game fair, meeting clients, doing their duties and

1:32 collecting money. However, things changed when they each got boyfriends, Kira's being 20 year old Cameron Jones at the time and Ashanti's being 21 year old Dantavius Morrison. As more clients contacted them, Kira, Ashanti and Cameron came up with a new plan. Instead of going through all the extra effort, they could simply rob the men. On December 21st, 2018, 28 year old Mario Edwards, a FedEx employee, decided to contact one of the women for a date. He was given a location in Forest Park, GA, specifically the Forest Arms Apartments on College Street.

2:16 When Mario arrived at the apartment and entered, one of the women pulled out a gun in an attempt to escape. Mario fought back for the weapon. Within seconds, multiple shots were fired. It was around 2:00 PM, so nearby neighbors called the police upon hearing the commotion. Upon arrival at the scene, authorities found that Mario had been shot multiple times. He was immediately taken to a local hospital but unfortunately did not survive his injuries. Detectives discovered that the apartment where he was located was vacant and that his last calls had been made repeatedly to 1 number. According to Mario's family, his wallet, wedding ring, and $900 from his credit card were missing.

3:01 The credit card purchase was traced back to Square Cash and sent to Ashanti Dorsey. Mario's car was later found abandoned in Atlanta while police work to track down Ashanti. It wouldn't be long before one of the women struck again. On December 28th, 2018, 46 year old Rodger Crawford from Barnesville, GA was at home with his four children. A married father with a successful career at J&M Truck Lines, he told his family he would be back after checking his work schedule for the week. However, instead of going to work, he got in his vehicle and went on an escort site where he contacted Kira. She agreed to meet him at a Handy Mart in Thomasville, GA.

3:44 When Rodger arrived, Kira approached his car. Filled with adrenaline. Rodger didn't even make a sound as Cameron snuck up on him and aimed the gun. In a commanding voice, he ordered Rodger to get in the back seat of his car. Panicked, Rodger tried to fight back but was shot once. Despite the pain, he pleaded for mercy, willing to give them whatever they wanted. But Cameron had other plans, driving Rodger to a rundown trailer park where Kira joined them. As Rodger tried to escape, Kira took hold of the gun and shot him in the back of the head. The couple fled in Rodger's car, leaving his wife desperately trying to reach him.

4:25 After receiving a call at 7:19 PM, the police were alerted and began searching for Rodger, eventually finding his abandoned car in Clayton County. Meanwhile, phone records showed multiple texts sent from Rodger's phone to an unknown #15 miles away from his home. After investigating the number, they found a match to 18 year old Kyra Williams, who is now missing. As more reports of robberies and shootings surfaced, it became apparent that they were all connected to three individuals. Ashanti, Kira, and Cameron. Survivors of their attacks were too ashamed to come forward until one man shared his story of contacting Ashanti and being directed to the same location where Mario had been killed.

5:14 He sensed something wasn't right and tried to leave before being held at gunpoint by Cameron and Kira, who attempted to force him into the trunk of his BMW. But with his bulky speakers taking up space, he managed to run away, but not before being robbed for his valuables, which Kira later pawned. Similarly, another victim came forward after being shot in the hip when he realized Kira was stalling and saw a camera set up nearby. Thanks to quick response from 911, he survived his injuries with great shame. He confessed to the police his actions leading up to the incident. The couple, along with recently released Ashanti for shooting two women in South Fulton, were now wanted in multiple counties. Further charges included their involvement in the deaths of Mario and Kira, attempted murder on two others, and the disappearance of Roger.

6:10 On January 2nd, 2019, Clayton County Police received a call about shots fired at an apartment complex on Lakeview Dr. Upon arrival, they found Dantavius Morrison, Ashanti's boyfriend, fatally wounded from multiple gunshot wounds. Witnesses identified Ashanti as the shooter during an argument with Dantavius. It seemed that Ashanti had taken her own boyfriend's life. A few days later, detectives set up a meeting with Kira through an online ad. She agreed to meet them in DeKalb County, where she was arrested and brought in for questioning. During interrogation, Kira confessed to everything and revealed the location of Rodger's body.

6:54 She was charged with robbery, kidnapping, attempted murder, and two counts of first degree murder. Cameron was also taken into custody and charged accordingly. Ashanti remained at large and was deemed one of Clayton County's most wanted criminals after her involvement in the death of her boyfriend and a high speed chase with police. She was eventually apprehended in De Kalb County and charged with two counts of murder for both Mario and Dontavius. However, it was discovered that she had no connection to Roger's death. The drama continued as Cameron wrote a letter while in custody attempting to arrange an attack on the transportation vehicle, taking him to court so he escaped. The jail took extreme security measures when transporting the male suspect and his two female Co defendants to court. He faced additional charges for attempting to flee. Despite Kira's willingness to testify on camera, it did not sway the verdict.

7:54 She was found guilty on all counts and given a life sentence plus 20 years in prison. The outcome of Ashanti's case remains unknown as there is no information available on her sentencing. My condolences go out to the families of Mario, Roger and Dantavius who were tragically impacted by these individuals actions. It is unfortunately common for men to prioritize pleasure over logic. In some cases, our desires can blind us to the reality of our lives at home. Roderick had a loving family but jeopardized it all for an escort, ultimately losing his life.

8:35 Mario, also reportedly married with a successful job, made the same mistake. Even after Ashanti's first arrest for attempted assault on two women, Dantavius pleaded for her release, unaware of her true danger.
