She was 27 years old. A mother of two. And all she wanted was to celebrate her birthday.

India Thomas flew from Maryland to Houston on February 27th, 2026 — birthday trip planned, Miami next on the itinerary. She touched down. She never left.

That night, India and her boyfriend Derell Hall were shot and killed near Houston's airport. Her body was found in a ditch on Radio Road. His was in the middle of the street. Both riddled with multiple gunshot wounds.

Her mother Serena Chase told her not to go. Her gut said something was wrong. She lost contact with India around 11 PM — and never heard her voice again.

No suspects. No arrests. No answers.

In this episode of No Tears For Black Girls, we're saying India Thomas' name — because her two children deserve to know the world didn't just scroll past their mother.
