“SHE WAS ONLY 8 WHEN SHE VANISHED” — BAMFI ENTERPRISES IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE BLACK AND MISSING FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES EXCLUSIVE DOCUSERIES REOPENING THE RELISHA RUDD CASE ON HER 20TH BIRTHDAY
Emotionally powerful and socially urgent, “The Vanishing of Relisha Rudd: A Cold Case Reexamined” premieres October 29 on the Black and Missing Foundation’s YouTube Channel (@bamfiorg)
(Hyattsville, M.D.): On what would be Relisha Rudd’s 20th birthday, BAMFI Enterprises, in partnership with the Black and Missing Foundation (BAMFI), proudly announces the release of its exclusive new docuseries, The Vanishing of Relisha Rudd: A Cold Case Reexamined.
This emotionally powerful and socially urgent series revisits the 2014 disappearance of eight-year-old Relisha Rudd, whose case remains one of Washington, D.C.’s most haunting unsolved mysteries. Through never-before-seen interviews and unprecedented access, the docuseries reopens her case and exposes the systemic inequities that too often determine whose stories get told and whose do not.
The official trailer drops Friday, October 10, giving audiences an early look at this groundbreaking investigative series before its world premiere on October 29 at 8:00 PM ET, streaming exclusively on the Black and Missing Foundation’s YouTube Channel (@bamfiorg).
Viewers are encouraged to subscribe to BAMFI’s YouTube Channel now at youtube.com/@bamfiorg to receive premiere notifications and exclusive behind-the-scenes clips leading up to the release.
Ahead of the public debut, an invitation-only screening will be held at The Theatre at Eaton Hotel in Washington, D.C., uniting Relisha’s family, advocates, journalists, and community leaders for a powerful first look.
Led by BAMFI Enterprises, The Vanishing of Relisha Rudd: A Cold Case Reexamined features never-before-seen interviews with Relisha’s family, including her stepfather Antonio Wheeler, as well as Lead Detective Michael Fulton of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department and local reporters who covered the case. Their voices paint a heart-wrenching portrait of a family still seeking answer, and a community still waiting for justice.
“This isn’t just a docuseries, it’s a call to action,” said Derrica Wilson and Natalie Wilson, Founders of the Black and Missing Foundation. “Relisha deserves to be found. Her story, and the stories of so many others like hers, remind us that visibility is justice. We will never stop searching for Relisha.”
The rollout continues with Episode Two on October 30, released alongside the Double Exposure Investigative Film Festival in Washington, D.C. In November, BAMFI will release two short follow-up films examining the case of Pamela Butler, premiering November 5 and November 12.
By blending investigative storytelling with advocacy, The Vanishing of Relisha Rudd: A Cold Case Reexamined seeks to give voice to the voiceless and demand accountability where silence has lingered for far too long.
